1. 01.02.2024: Revised Notification regarding CRAR applicable to Co-operative Credit Societies:

Maharashtra State non Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society Regulatory Authority and the Commissioner for cooperation and registrar of Co-operative Societies, Maharashtra State has notified the revised norms for CRAR – Capital to Risk Weighted Asset Ratio norms for urban and Rural non Agricultural Co-operative Credit Societies on 1st February, 2024.

2. 05.02.2024 : Revised notification regarding NPA etc for Non Agricultural Co-operative Credit Societies:

Maharashtra State non Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society Regulatory Authority and the Commissioner for cooperation and registrar of Co-operative Societies, Maharashtra State has notified the revised norms for Income Recognition, Asset Classification and provisions- (NPA) Non Performing Assets on 5th February, 2024.

3. 07.02.2024 : Publication of Co-operative Auditors Panel for the year 2024 to 2026)

The Co-operative Department, Government of Maharashtra has published the Co-operative Auditors Panel for the year 2024 to 2026 by notification dated 7th February, 2024.

4. 27.02.2024 : Notification of section 154B-20 of the MCS Act, 1960 to apply for CHS having 50 or more members.

The Co-operative Department of Government of Maharashtra in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 154B-20 of the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960 and in supersession of all earlier notifications, orders or any other instrument issued in this behalf , the Government of Maharashtra hereby directs that the provisions of the said section shall apply to the Housing Co-operative Housing Societies having 50 or more members.

5. 28.02.2024 : Govt Order for Committee members and quorum for Co-operative Housing Societies less than 50 members:

The Co-operative Department, Government of Maharashtra has published government order dated 28th February, 2024. As per this order, the co-operative housing societies having less than 50 members shall have 7 committee members and the quorum for the managing committee meeting shall be 3 members.

6. 28.02.2024 Postponement of Co-operative Elections till 31st May, 2024

The government vide notification dated 28th Feb, 2024 has postponed the election of all the co-operative societies till 31st May, 2024 due to the preparation for the Lok Sabha Election by the Co-operative officers. The elections for which nomination procedure is completed and the election which needs to be done as per the court orders shall be as per the schedule but all other elections will be postponed at the stage at which it is standing as on the date of the order till 31st May, 2024.

7. 29.02.2024 : Audit Classification Marksheet for Primary Agricultural Co-operative Society ( PACS):

The Commissioner for Co-operation and Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Maharashtra State, Pune has issued a circular dated 29th February, 2024 has revised the audit classification marksheet as applicable to Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Societies (PACS) effective from financial year 2023-24 onwards. It is mandatory to attach the audit marksheet along with Audit report and the marksheet attached to the said circulars cannot be changed internally.
