Message from Chairman's Desk
CA. Arpit Jagdish Kabra
Chairman
Dear Colleagues,
As I conclude my term as Chairman of the largest Region of the Institute, I reflect on a year filled with accomplishment. We saw every action plan materialize through collective planning, perseverance, and progress, fulfilling the mission we set forth at the beginning with P.R.I.D.E. Over the year we witnessed numerous innovative initiatives and events taking place which brought greater glory to the Institute and the Profession thanks to the dedicated efforts of WIRC and all its stakeholders. I am proud to state that these efforts resulted in WIRC of ICAI being awarded the distinguished awards of "India's Best Region" and "India's Best Student Association" for WICASA by our beloved alma mater.
These awards, achievements and success belong to you - my esteemed colleagues on the Regional Council, Chairpersons at WIRC Branches, and our members & students as they wouldn't have been possible without your active support and cooperation. At the same time, I am deeply grateful for the guidance from our esteemed ICAI President, Vice President, Central Council Members, Regional Council Members and respected Seniors. Throughout my journey, I have deeply valued the advice of these stalwarts and their support has been invaluable.
I have always been inspired by the Bhagavad Gita's teachings on duty, selflessness, and action. Its timeless wisdom guides not only leaders but also all individuals seeking direction and fulfilment. Its tenets on leadership, motivation, and decision-making are relevant across all aspects of life and very closely resonate with the qualities we strive to attain at WIRC. Over the past year I have tried in my own humble way to embody and communicate these principles. As I conclude my term, I want to share some key takeaways from the Bhagavad Gita:
- Leadership: Lead by example and inspire others through your actions and commitment
- Motivation: Encourage self-transcendence, finding fulfilment in our duties, and focusing on progress rather than outcomes.
- Decision-making: Approach choices with integrity, balancing action with inaction, and recognizing the interconnectedness of our decisions.
- Embrace Action: Be an active participant in shaping your future.
- Fulfil Your Duty: Dedicate yourself to your responsibilities with purpose.
- Practice Selflessness: Focus on the process, not personal gain.
- Find Balance: Create harmony between work and personal life.
These lessons hold true for members, students, employees, and entrepreneurs alike. May you find guidance and inspiration in these principles as you navigate your own personal and professional journeys.
Below is a glimpse of the events and initiatives conducted over the past month.

Laxmibai Radhakisan Toshniwal College of Commerce for his remarkable efforts towards making this dream a reality.
As we enter 2024, let's rethink business through the lens of the ancient Vedic concept of "yagna," a ritual of offering and invocation. In this framework, every exchange becomes a sacred act, where the initiator ("yajaman") expresses their commitment ("Svaha!") and the recipient ("devata") responds with blessings ("Tathastu!"). This applies to shareholders, employees, customers – each interaction becomes a yagna.
Modern management often focuses solely on the transactional aspects, neglecting the human dimension. Imagine Sadhana, a fast-food employee forced to follow rigid procedures of communicating only in English despite knowing a better way to serve a customer such as speaking in the local language which is more comfortable for the customer. This reflects a "karya-karta" dynamic, prioritizing obedience over individual spirit.
The yagna emphasizes "bhaav," the emotional intent, which arises from the yajaman's perception of the devata and their own self-worth. Replacing the yajaman alters the exchange, impacting the outcome.
Therefore, the call is not to abandon modern methods, but to incorporate a "human touch." Businesses can learn from the yagna by:
- Valuing employees' feelings and intentions: Foster an environment where open communication and individual expression are encouraged.
- Recognizing the human heart of success: Remember that people, with their unique perspectives and contributions, are the driving force behind any thriving business.
- Striking a balance between efficiency and humanity: Modern systems can be optimized to empower individuals, fostering both productivity and employee well-being.
By integrating these principles, we can transform businesses into spaces where people feel valued, fulfilled, and empowered to contribute their best selves. This reimagined yagna approach has the potential to unlock not just business success, but also a more meaningful and human-centered work experience for all involved.
In the digital age, the accounting profession is at a crossroad. Embracing new technology and collaboration is crucial for survival and growth, but how can we do so while retaining the ethical core and human connection that define our profession? Enter the concept of "CTRL – S: Collaboration Technology Response Learning & Spiritual Connect (Guide)", where we proactively include:
Collaboration of knowledge via professional interactions and digital platforms, software, etc., become invaluable tools.

‘Whatever a great man does, other men also do; whatever standards he sets, the world follows.’
Once again, Thank You for all your support and look forward to walking step by step with you I the service of the Profession and the Nation.
