Message from WIRC Chairman's Desk

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day-in and day-out.

—Robert Collier

Dear Students,

For a CA student, success isn’t achieved overnight but through relentless small efforts—each concept understood, paper attempted, and revision completed. Long study hours and consistent focus transform challenges into milestones. Every disciplined day brings them closer to becoming a professional of integrity and precision, embodying the spirit of perseverance that defines the CA journey.

The Western India Regional Council has always believed that the journey of a Chartered Accountant is not only about passing examinations but about developing as professionals with vision, resilience, and integrity. The month of August beautifully reflected this belief through a wide range of initiatives aimed at sharpening academic skills, opening professional pathways, and nurturing overall growth of our students.

WIRC remains committed to continuous learning, professional advancement, and empowering students. In august month we saw initiatives like the CA Intermediate and Final Mock Test Series, a Concurrent Audit of Banks program, a capital markets session, and a seminar with IIM Ahmedabad, all fostering knowledge-sharing and industry interaction. These mock test sessions were not just about practice but about instilling confidence, discipline, and the right approach towards examinations.

On the professional development front, WIRC strengthened its commitment to connecting academic learning with real-world opportunities through the sessions on Gulf Career Opportunities and the Industrial Placement Program. These initiatives enabled students to explore their potential in the global marketplace while gaining access to placements in reputed organizations. The month also witnessed a proud celebration of Independence Day at the ICAI premises, marked by unity, enthusiasm, and national spirit.

The Vadodara Branch’s Gyan Yagna: Enhance Seminar delved into Private Equity, Startups, and Fundraising, combining expert talks with interactive activities and virtual participation options, further broadening students’ horizons.

At the Rajkot Gyan Sanchar Mela, students gained valuable hands-on exposure to essential topics such as GST Assessment and Appeal Drafting, Internal Audit, Income Tax Assessment and Litigation, and Share Market Accounting, reflecting the practical depth required of today’s aspiring Chartered Accountants. The focused Income Tax Seminar further solidified foundational knowledge in a core area of the profession. Participation in the One-Day Conference on Tax Audit in Ahmedabad provided an opportunity for students to engage with experts and deepen their professional insights.

Recognizing that true growth extends beyond academics, WIRC also promoted creativity, camaraderie, and emotional well-being through the National Talent Search—Branch Level Competitions in Chess, Sketching, Drama, and Instrumental Music. Energetic celebrations like Ganesh Chaturthi fostered a spirit of joy, culture, and spirituality, underscoring the importance of balance and harmony in the CA journey.

Every initiative in August, whether academic, professional, or cultural, represented a meaningful step toward shaping well-rounded Chartered Accountants. These efforts aligned with three pillars: strengthening academic excellence through exams and seminars, enhancing professional readiness via placements and exposure to the finance sector, and nurturing holistic growth through talent and cultural events.

As September begins, all students are encouraged to stay engaged, embrace curiosity, and take full advantage of upcoming opportunities. By working together, we will continue to nurture a dynamic CA community—one that excels technically and leads with integrity and vision.

Warm regards,
CA Ketan Saiya
Chairman, WIRC of ICAI
